If doing Basic Attacks with a 1H Magic weapon, without directly hitting anything, the weapon will also fire an orb that deals 40% of the user's MATK as damage to the first enemy it collides with. One-Handed (1H) weapons are characterized by their quick speed and low damage, with Basic Attacks that consist of a quick slash in front of the player. This means that a player with 100 ATK, 50 MATK, and a 2H magic weapon, a Basic Attack would deal (100 + 50) * 0.4 * 1.25 = 75 damage on each direct hit. The exception to this rule is the Wooden Sword, which has a multiplier of 85%. For most 1H weapons, this multiplier is 90%, while for 2H weapons it is 125%. In addition to the type, each weapon has its own multiplier attached to it.

Main Weapons can be used to do a Basic Attack that deals damage based on the weapon's stats and class. The most common stats for them are ATK and MATK, though other stats and special effects can also be encountered. With high damage, casting speed and the energy pool to maintain it, you can literally melt bosses with very few flamethrower spell uses - provided the flamethrower itself doesn't get interrupted by you getting hit.Main Weapons are items that can be equipped in the weapon inventory slot. Faster casting speed makes energy deplete faster but makes damage ticks happen faster too. Now, if you're talking about just for a single skill for mages, Flamethrower is the best (at least in my opinion) since you can literally cast it once, and keep casting it until your energy is depleted. It also requires you to also get a pet and dump nothing but attack speed into it. The damage you deal is basically as fast as you can ohysically mash the attack button and can be physically exerting on your finger(s). I've been managing to obtain around a solid 4~5K Damage done a second against bosses and have managed to wipe out even late-game bosses in mere seconds with the build, but it's very tricky to use. The constant attack leaves you in the enemy's face 100% of the time. The build cares very little for actual defense though. There character is only around level 26, too.

The wand projectiles, along with the melee hit, both recovering 5 EP energy each, plus beserk which gives even more energy per hit, lets you stack this burst damage into constant DPS, as well as still be able to even support in a pitch (or just keep support buffs on yourself). Has really high damage per second with basic attacks, and you can instantly skills for burst damage. My highest DPS build so far has been a hybrid, two-handed build using the ice lance, with copious amounts of attack speed.
